A Gift of Tulips

I chose tulips for you, not for their perfection, but for the way they lean toward light.

And when I give them to you, it is not really flowers I am offering,

but a brief spring held in my hands, a reminder that beauty,

often arrives simply and wants to be shared.

They will not stay long in this moment, this is part of their honesty.

Still, while they are here, they will teach the world how to soften, to smile.
